A management buy out at Four Seasons

November 2006

A bid has been entered by two of the world's richest men to purchase the exclusive Four Seasons Hotel chain. The bid is via a management buy out and is supported by Bill Gates and Saudi Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal. The value of the port folio has been estimated to be £1.95bn. If the deal is successful, the chief executive Isadore Sharp and his investment company Triples Holdings, the company's controlling shareholder, would own about 10 per cent of the firm, with the other two investors splitting the balance. Mr Sharp would remain as chairman and chief executive and could be entitled to millions of dollars in long term incentives.
