A bug in British Airways online booking system that wouldn't allow sibling and spouses with the same initials to check in online has at last been fixed. The online system was made available to BA customers in 1999.

The problem meant that if you wanted to book two children with the same initials and surname on to one flight you would only be allocated one seat. The launch of the improved system will take place on 25th July and will allow children under 12 to be checked in online.

BA says that it hopes the new improved booking online facility will take some of the stress out of traveling this summer as the new check in will also allow passengers to pre order meals as well as seats.
